Landscape Design & Install

Landscape Design & Install.  Designing, installing, and maintenance of ecologically productive landscapes that provide visual appeal, as well as creating inviting habitats for birds and other wildlife.

The client process begins with an in depth client interview, hearing  the client’s wants and needs of their landscape.  Then moving forward in doing the analysis of the property before deciding on how to approach the landscape design.  Installation of the design makes use of the appropriate tools and knowledge that will assure a healthy ecosystem.

Cleanup & Mulch.  Every year most landscapes can use a fresh start with a layer of mulch.  Mulch helps plants retain moisture, and cools roots during the hot summer months.  Cleanup at the end of the year helps keep your landscape looking its best throughout the fall and winter months.

Container Planting & Window Boxes.  Often times containers are the best solution to limited space, especially in an apartment or condo. We have many types of containers, from traditional window boxes, to non-traditional vertical-use planters in tight spaces. Our knowledge of plantings will fit all sun requirements.

Pruning.  Cutting back shrubs and small trees is necessary in any type of landscape to ensure the sustained health of the plant material.  Before any pruning, there is an analysis of what the shrub or tree requires, then finding the best way of accomplishing that without diminishing the visual appeal.  Routine and remedial pruning helps a landscape stay healthy for many years.

Raised Beds.  Using different materials we can create a raised bed for any type of planting.  Using raised beds for vegetable planting in an urban environment is often recommended, as the soil may be contaminated with undesirable compounds and unable to support plant life.

Lawn Alternatives.  Replacing an existing lawn with various groundcover, and low growing herb can make for an attractive alternative to plain, non-productive lawns.  These types of plantings can also use less water in the long-term, making it a wise choice for long term summer drought conditions.

Composting.  A compost bin is the best and most cost effective way to gain fertile soil.  Bins can be small or large, but we can work to find a solution that works best for you, and maintain it if needed.

Landscape Removal.  Occasionally a landscape become so overgrown that things need to be removed, so that a fresh plan can be implemented.  Select removal of shrubs and trees is done so that care is shown for the surrounding landscape that is to be saved.
